Community Engagement Programme
The Uyinene Mrwetyana Foundation partners with various individuals and organisations; as we achieve our respective objectives.
Through our community-based-approach, the Foundation endeavours to work closely with all the people it's mandated to serve.
We believe that communities should engage meaningfully and substantially in all aspects of our proposed programmes that affect them from design, to implementation & evaluation.
Our aim is to move towards sustainable development, that includes quality education, psycho-education, awareness-raising, gender equality & advocacy.
The Foundation seeks to collaborate with, and amplify, the work of Gender-Based Violence by partnering and collaborating with like-minded individuals, organisations, institutions & communities, across the country & beyond, to be a vehicle for social change and transformation.
A theory of change framework aligned with Good Participatory Practice guides our Community Development Programme. In rolling out its prevention strategy the Foundation aims to intervene at three levels: primary, secondary and tertiary level.

Volunteerism:
In its prevention strategy the Foundation aims to build a strong sustainable volunteer programme in communities.

A strong volunteer programme will enable communities to be actively involved in coming up with community – based responses in the prevention of GBVF.
We need volunteers to contribute to community development by committing time and effort for the benefit of the organisation and the community.
They will serve as representatives of the foundation in executing the programmes of the foundation at a community level. Also, they will play a significant role in community- building and bringing multiple benefits to the Foundation and communities.
They will be there to ensure that the vision of the foundation of striving for communities that are free of GBVF is realized. Volunteers can come from all walks of life.
They could be retirees, students, professionals, community leaders, men or women to name a few. A structured volunteer management programme is suggested in order to assist in an effective integration of volunteers into the Foundation. This will be achieved through formal training and effective community development co-ordination.
